What is causing my discomfort?

If you have headaches or discomfort in your neck, back, hip, knee, ankle/foot, shoulder or other joints, or if you are suffering from numbness, tingling or muscle weakness, you may be suffering from vertebral subluxation. Since the controlling nerve impulses travel through the spinal column, chiropractic care can have a positive affect on many aspects of health, besides back, neck, and joint pain.

Can chiropractic care help me even if I am not in any discomfort?

Absolutely! Most patients find that periodic chiropractic checkups helps keep them in optimal shape. Those who are active, have stressful jobs, or just want to be their very best, find that a schedule of preventative visits are helpful in the maintenance of great health.

How do vertebral subluxations get corrected?

Chiropractors correct subluxations by using an adjustment. While there are many techniques for adjusting, at Renaissance Family Chiropractic we use the Blair Technique to help our patient achieve optimum spinal health with the least amount of adjusting.

How do I know if Chiropractic is right for me?

Our Chiropractors interview each patient to document their health history and concerns. An initial comprehensive exam is performed to record current spinal conditions. Findings are reviewed and options of care are discussed. If warranted, x-rays are taken to determine the spinal misalignment. Because chiropractic is safe, effective, and promotes overall wellness, it is a good choice for all family members.

When does a child need a spinal checkup?

It is important that newborns have their spines examined immediately after birth and through every stage of life – – when they begin to raise their head, learn to crawl, and walk. Active children who ride bikes, play sports, and carry heavy backpacks should have their spines checked regularly.

An unhealthy spine contributes to many clinical features from delayed development to lower resistance to infections – – especially ear, nose, and throat infections. Even though a child's young body has tremendous capacity to adapt, uncorrected subluxations can set the stage for problems often seen later in adults.
